Language and the human mind
People who have at one time put in the work to learn a new language have soon realized that, in the end of it all you end up using philosophical literature to learn to the language. This seems fair, because probably if you can understand the language then most likely you can understand the philosophy writings which are usually vague.
while studying Korean, I came across a multitude of words that did not have direct translations, in other words the english language and most likely all latin based languages do not acknowledge the existence of the phenomenon; or lets say emotion since most of these were emotions. To help you understand, the Japanese and Korean words of ice cream are actually written as ice cream, because these communities of people originally didnot have ice cream in their lives and therefore had no word for it.
The above paragraph brings me to an understanding that, one's language can actually limit the things that they experience. If the word sad didnot exist in your language, you could probaly never feel sad.
So what language does is determine that that you can think, understand, think and fantasize about, and probably also dream about.
You could however also use this new knowledge to you advantage by choosing never to use some words in your mind, lets say fear, all negative thoughouts. This would in principle remove all these things from existence in your reality.
When same one's arm gets broken, some languages say, " my arm got broken" - which puts all responsibility off the person, while some say " I broke my arm" which gives the person full responsiblity; from this you can see how language will determine what perspective you have on what you observe or even what conclusions you draw based on how your thought sentences are structured; because, lets face it- language is indeed the software of the mind.
