new me

So originally this is a blog I started in my first semester in university as an assignment from my ICT lecturer at the time. Am confident that no one will ever really read it, and that is exactly why I have come back to write here. I love the fact that I can come here and scribble my random and sometimes ridiculous thoughts, and also the fact that unlike as is the case with facebook and twitter, or even Instagram, no one will come here to read this. I long for the day when I can come here and re-read my own thoughts and ridiculous ideas. So I intend to use this as sort of like a diary, because I have never really owned one, and since we are living in the dot com era, most likely an old blog can serve this purpose. Even though I had previously abandoned this blog, I feel like it gives me a chance to put some of my free time to good use, in a really relaxed manner; of course, the lecturer already marked this assignment and he won't be back to check this- so am totally relaxed and ready to share my stupid thoughts with whoever will get lucky to find them.

I believe that I most probably one of the greatest thinkers of our generation; I actually just don't show off hahaha, wow, I never realized randomly typing things could be this fun.
You know, I have like a billion things I wish I could just type here, but am only human. Well, who knows, maybe it will end up being a worthwhile blog.

So ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the new me. ( The version of me that can say anything without the limits of society, family or friends... and I love it :)

CRISPR 2.0

You’ve probably heard of the molecular scalpel CRISPR-Cas9, which can edit or delete whole genes. Now, scientists have developed a more precise version of the DNA-editing tool that can repair even smaller segments of a person’s genome. In two studies published this month, one in  Nature  and another in  Science , researchers from the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard describe a new way to edit DNA and RNA, called base editing. The approach could one day treat a range of inherited diseases, some of which currently have no treatment options. The human genome contains six billion DNA letters, or chemical bases known as A, C, G and T. These letters pair off—A with T and C with G—to form DNA’s double helix. Base editing, which uses a modified version of CRISPR, is able to change a single one of these letters at a time without making breaks to DNA’s structure. How to fight sleep while studying.

So I have occasionally suffered from sleep during my lectures and studying periods until when it finally hit me. For some reason, if you just keep breathing, I mean breathing consciously (Oh God I know you aren't dead and are obviously breathing), you don't fall asleep hihihi. This really sounds stupid. If anyone out there wants to try it, please try and help me confirm that it actually works. So it turns out, for you to sleep, you must actually sort of hold your breath for a while, then blackout. I mean, at that moment of blacking out, you actually do hold your breath. Well, so all you have to do now is to make sure you don't hold your breath- like at all, and you are all set.
